Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho...

Today was my first day back to work after being on six weeks of maternity leave! That's right, my boring, lazy, uneventful and non-productive vacation (yeah right!) is over. To all of you moms out there you know that being home with your kids is a lot more work than going to work! I really enjoyed my time at home this summer but I was ready to get back into my old routine and I couldn't wait to see all of my friends and clients that I have missed! I was a little nervous to get back in the swing of things at the shop but today felt really normal so I guess it won't be that hard. I love being able to be home and also to be able to work! I have the perfect schedule.
Some reasons I love being home are:
-Letting my kids have a nap schedule
-Watching some lame daytime TV shows that I have come to love!
-Sleeping in (as much as a 13 month old and a newborn let me!)
-Playing with Skylar
-Having a chance to get some housework and laundry done...really hard to do when you work full time!

Some reasons I love going to work are:
-Having adult conversation
-Making my own money
-Keeping up on industry styles and techniques
-Looking forward to seeing my girls after work! It sometimes helps me be a better mom when I miss them a little!
-Keeps me busy and makes my days go by really fast!

So, I guess I hope to be seeing some of you soon...My chair is now open for business again!

Tagged!

Okay, I have been tagged plenty of times but I have never participated...until now! So here goes!

1. What were you doing 10 years ago?
I was just getting ready to try out for the Jazz Dancers. I was coaching Warriorettes and working at the Timbermine (yes, I still work there), taking the summer off from college and just being 18.

2. What is on your to do list today?
I don't really have much I have to do today, but you know I could always do some laundry and clean some things but usually on Sundays we just relax!

3. If you suddenly became a billionaire, what would you do with the money?
I think that I would obviously pay off all of our bills (house, car, etc.). Then I would make sure my kids would be well taken care of for college, wedding and some $ to start out their life with. Then I would take lots of really fun vacations with my family and a few with just my husband! After that, maybe donate to some charities and invest the rest!

4. Where have you worked?
I have worked at Ogden Pizzeria, Timbermine, coached Drill Team, gas station, Mr. Rags (just for a minute!), Nicholls & Co. and I think that is all!

5. Where have you lived?
Ogden, the Valley (Liberty, Eden), Ogden again, Riverdale, North Ogden, Ogden again and Plain City.

6. What are three things people don't know about you?
1. Even though my hair has mostly been short, I would love to have awesome long hair!
2. I really like that show on Bravo called "Tori and Dean Home Sweet Hollywood"!
3. I hate to clean my cat's litter box!

I tag Steph and Kerri and whoever else wants to be tagged!

Memories!

1- As a comment on this post, write a memory that you have of me or our family! It doesn't matter if you now us well or very little!

2- Post the same instructions on your blog and see what people remember about you!

I can't wait to hear what you remember...or maybe I can! I hope everyone has good memories about us!

Swimming fun!

Tonight my great friend, Holly, called and invited me and the girls over for dinner. That was so nice of her and I was really grateful that I didn't have to eat cereal again, since that is usually what I eat for dinner when Travis is working out of town. She made spaghetti that was wonderful! After dinner, her kids asked if they could go swimming in the new pool they just built out back. Holly and I sat on the edge with our feet in while each of us was holding one of my babies. We dipped Skylar's feet in too and she didn't really like it at first. She kept saying, "Nooo." We just kept trying and pretty soon she decided that it wasn't so bad. We took her shorts and tank off and since she didn't have a swimsuit with her we just put her in the pool in her diaper. Thier pool has this great wading platform that is only about 4-5 inches deep. It is perfect for babies and toddlers to swim around in! Skylar had a good time just walking (with assistance, STILL) and sitting in the warm water. I even dipped her in the deeper water and she loved it. It was a lot of fun to get out of the house and let Skylar play and splash in the pool. And we got fed a great meal as well! What a fun evening! Thanks Holly!!

Vacation???!!!

This weekend we took a trip to Twin Falls, Idaho where Travis and his family played in...you guessed it, a golf tourny! All the wives went and I took the girls. It was really fun but Skylar was sooo much work! She wasn't naughty, she was just acting her age. She has a hard time being cooped up, like in the hotel room or riding in her stroller for a long time. She always wants you to walk with her by holding her hands and going up and down the hallway or around the store. Luckily I had a lot of help from my sisters-in-law and Trav's mom, Patti. I don't think I could have done it without them! I hope it didn't ruin their trip by having my babies around, but I think that they really enjoy them! Anyway, Sailyr was really good, she just eats and sleeps.
We went to the open house at the new Twin Falls Temple. It was so cool! I have never been in a temple before and it was so beautiful inside! I was really glad that we went. While we were on the tour we went into the room with the baptismal font. The ceilings were really high and the room echoed a little. Everyone in the group was really quiet listening to the guide tell us about the room, except for Skylar! She kept saying "Hi!" really loudly and repeating it about a hundred times! Everyone was smiling and giggling at her, just egging her on. She must have realized the echo and really thought she should take advantage of it! It was so cute and a memory that I won't ever forget!
Travis and Brady ended up tying for first place in the tournament! They won about $210 each and got to spend it in the clubhouse and buy some new golf stuff! It was really exciting and really made the trip even that much more fun!
Going on "vacation" isn't what it used to be before we had kids but I wouldn't have it any other way!
P.S. My pictures of this trip wouldn't upload for some reason, but check out Steph's blog for some cute pics!

Sisters!!

Skylar is really getting the hang of being a big sister! She is always wanting to give Sailyr kisses on her head and touching her hand. It is so cute. She says, "Baby," and points to her. I hope this is a sign of things to come for the two of them! I am so excited for them to have each other and hopefully have a really fun and close relationship for the rest of their lives! What a great gift for them!

Sailyr's birth announcement!

Here is Sailyr's birth announcement. We just got them done and I haven't even received the paper copies to mail out yet but I just wanted to show it off! Julie Bailey did her pictures and put together the announcement, she is so talented! I have loved all of the pictures that she has done of Skylar and now Sailyr! If you want Julie's info just let me know and I can get it to you!

Fourth of July!!!

Yesterday we got up early and went to the Plain City Fourth of July parade. It was really fun and really the perfect parade. It wasn't too long and the weather wasn't too hot yet. Skylar had fun trying to pick up the candy they threw and she created quite the pile! Stephanie and Brady came with us since they are also new Plain City residents! The bad part of the day was I got really sick for the rest of the day. I had horrible body aches and a fever, it really sucked! I wanted to take Skylar back over to the park to see all of the booths and maybe play a couple of games (you know, the fish pond, etc!) but I just didn't feel up to it. Today I feel much better, luckily! Travis golfed with his Dad and brothers which is an annual tradition on every summer holiday. Later that night we lit some fireworks off in front of our house and watched the Plain City fireworks from our back deck! It was the perfect view and we didn't have to fight the crowds!

So True...

Any mom out there knows that this is sooo true! I luckily have been home A LOT lately and have been able to keep up on my laundry pretty well but I still feel like this on many days!
